Escape to victory


No school because of local elections so, like two tunnel rats, Dominic and Max have spent today getting completely filthy underneath a perfectly good slide at Tatton Park. Of course this wasn't in homage to a classic of cinema but part of yet another Power Ranger game played with such intensity that every other child in the park must surely think they are a pair of complete nutters. The picture quality is a bit rubbish as I was on full zoom from our far away picnic blanket where.....


Madeleine and I were still reeling from the news that Beyond Black, our current least favourite read this year (that's in the finished category - Lorna Doone leads in my unfinished book of 2006 list) has been shortlisted for the Orange Prize. Come on women writers of the world, surely there is better on offer than that. For confirmation of my prejudice and to have a good laugh about books you have read, I'd advise a visit to the Guardian's Digested Reads as recommended by Leaf Blower Dan. Posted by Picasa
