Quarry Bank Mill

 

Not that you can tell from these pictures, but the weekend before last we went to Quarry Bank Mill, an NT property very near our house. It was great, both inside and out. The mill still produces some goods and so you can see lots of machinery in action and the water wheel is fantastic. Even I could understand how it worked. The Mill is very hands on so the boys loved it and we will be able to go there many times. Dominic didn't believe that cotton grew on a plant but happily, they have some real cotton plants growing under glass so the young sceptic had no choice but to believe me. Chris and Madeleine mooched about outside and then the boys made the most of the playpark while the rain stayed away.
