5th year report

Dominic has finally attained the age of five years and, as I wrote one for Madeleine, I feel it is only right to take the opportunity to provide a similar picture of him at this age.

Looks: Dominic is a pretty good looking young man with a very expressive face. Particularly striking are his look of scorn, his look of wild excitement and his I am very, very angry face. All of these can easily be observed within a two minute time frame as Mr Emotional is known to have many mood swings. Still, he is proving popular with the young ladies in his class and confidently assures me that at least four of them would like to marry him. At the moment, Emma is his favourite and has been his "girlfriend" for some time - I think.

Personality: Dominic (Dom, Demonic Dominic) is a very outgoing, articulate young sprog, full of energy, ideas and questions: (Mummy, do you know everything? Will you tell me everything you know? Now?). He is very noisy, very boyish but also very caring, particularly to Madeleine and in principle, if not always in practice, to Max. He likes making things, pretending to be superheroes, telling other people what to do and winning. Who does he take after I wonder?

Skills and experience: Dominic can ride a bike with stabilisers, spell lots of three letter words, read a 24 page reading book doing his own sounding out, do buttons but not shoelaces, swim a little and talk for Britain. At school he seems to be good at having ideas, drama, maths and construction. He is fully conversant with all series of Power Rangers and his favourite word is "actually". Most recently, he is showing great promise with a cricket bat but he has assured me that he is "the worst runner in the whole school."

Likes: Potatoes in all forms, apples, yoghurt, school, blue dog, television, making paper aeroplanes, museums, asking questions, making up games.

Dislikes: Sandwiches, losing, getting ready to go anywhere, tidying up.

What we love about him: His enthusiasm, his ideas, his incredible memory, his sense of humour

What tests us just a little: His wealth of opinions, his ability to argue with a paper bag, the tears! Posted by Picasa
