I took Dominic and Max to their first football match a couple of weeks ago. The big match was between Stockport County and Torquay on a bright autumn afternoon. The atmosphere at Edgeley Park was pretty friendly but some of the language was less than child friendly. At least Dominic didn’t ask me to explain what “take him out the f*****g s*t tw*t” means. What can I say? The football was pretty basic but the boys really seemed to enjoy it. They got very excited when "
the Hatters" scored (Stockport Country for those in the know). It was one of the least inspiring goals ever scored and it appeared the Torquay ‘keeper just threw the ball in his own net. Stockport won 1-0 and our attendance has marked the beginning of a two match winning spree for the boys in blue. The afternoon was finished off with the traditional post-game hotdog from a burger van. It was a great Dad and with his boys day. If you are interested, a full match report is available
here which doesn’t seem to relate that well to the game I watched!!
As an aside one of my colleagues, Ben, was also there enjoying corporate hospitality. Well that was the plan but he didn't get in because of his jeans and trainers. I think he enjoyed the game as it made a change from the dismal stuff he has to watch being a Manchester United seasonticket holder.
The joke is on me really - he watched United destroy Liverpool the following day :(

Football looked like fun and that photo of Max on the top right hand corner is absolutely gorgeous.
