4th Year Report

Seems like it's profile time again. If there is one theme in this family, it is that everyone should be treated fairly – which means its Max’s turn.

Looks
Max’s blond good looks have given him a lot of admirers: he is the Braithwaite child most commonly described as cute. And yet his very blondness is a bit of an issue as, until recently, he was absolutely adamant that his hair was in fact brown. He has a fondness for wearing odd socks and loves his Power Rangers vests. He is particular about shoes and likes his clothes to all be in the right drawers (e.g. pyjama drawer, short sleeve top drawer, trouser drawer etc.) Budding librarian?

Personality
Max is a sunny fellow who frequently wakes up and lies in his bed singing a few bars of a favourite tune before getting up. Less charmingly, he also likes to sing in the middle of the night when he has been woken up by a bad dream – but that is another story. He is very lighthearted and always ready to play and have fun but can also play by himself very imaginatively. He is adept at socialising and has a firm group of friends at pre-school, some of whom came and had a lovely time playing with him at his party. And, while he is certainly no pushover, he is inclined to share and think of others, particularly Dominic, in a very, very lovable way. Aww.

Skills and experience
Max seems to us to be pretty smart: maybe because he has learnt a lot by imitating his big brother – maybe because he is pretty smart. He can fairly reliably say the alphabet, he can spell his name and he can count to thirty-eight (although he may well then jump to one hundred and three). He can ride a bike (with stabilisers), smash one with a cricket bat, catch very well and is incredibly observant. His favourite word is currently “infintity”. When he grows up he would like to be a footballer.

Likes
Yoghurt, cheese and sandwiches; things being in the right place; playing on the computer; gardening; knights; talking about poo and all things “stinky”

Dislikes
Anything he thinks that Dominic gets first; things being in the wrong place, losing.

What we love about him
Instinctive generosity and helpfulness, sunny nature, smile.

What tests us just a little
His insistence on waiting until absolutely the last moment before announcing he needs the toilet – with occasional, inevitable and unfortunate consequences; that really ugly face when he howls about some perceived injustice or other.

N.B. Picture is of the cute Scooby Doo figures from Max’s party treasure hunt game.

Hmmmm, I seem to remember we've had at least one of these reports on all the children and Chris. Where's the one for Kate?????

Well spotted Camille. My thought exactly. To be fair, I think Kate introduced this feature for Madeleine's first birthday so I expect we'll get Kate featured when her birthday comes round on 22nd May this year. Won't we dear?
