Last week, Maddie and I accompanied the Jones family to the Lowry in Salford to take in a little art and study the new(ish) bridge down there.
The gallery was impressively geared up for children but I have promised Dominic a trip there so I will save the details for then.
The most memorable aspect of the trip however, was the sight of one particular teenage girl on some kind of organised visit. There were a host of them there all filling out A4 questionnaires in a slightly bored manner, but the one that caught my eye was actually leaning her paper ON ONE OF THE PAINTINGS in order to fill it in. After I got over being totally gobsmacked, I just gently said excuse me and said I thought she was supposed to lean on the wall, not on the painting, and smiled vaguely. She looked a bit surprised, but she did stop WRITING ON A LOWRY, and off we both went.
And after that excitement, I took some photographs.
