Mid-week drinking error

On Tuesday night, Chris and I stepped out with some American friends for a curry in town. We went to the very sleek Akbar near Deansgate where the food was spicy, the service slick but the noise way too much for any decent chat.
So having eaten, we repaired to the Ox Bar which I rather liked. We laid into some more red wine and had a good time.

Then came kicking out time. But instead of running for the last train, we committed the error of repairing to the Hilton for some more wine in the bar. We could have gone to the trendy Cloud 23 bar but it was sadly closed due to a plumbing crisis. Never mind: we were probably much better dressed to be in the downstairs bar and at least the sight of the taxis queueing outside did eventually remind us that we had a home (not to mention a babysitter) to go to.

In the morning we just looked at each other's pale faces, the multiple bags under our eyes and the horror in our faces at the sound of the kids getting up and asked each other that unanswerable question.....why???

You groovy dudes. How come we didn't do this while I lived there? Oh that's right I was the babysitter.
