The return of Parents on the Spot

Max is getting to be as bad as Dominic for asking difficult questions. Here are a few of the more memorable recent ones:

1. Can snakes kill elephants?

2. What is cartilage made of?

3. Who was the first person born in the world?

4. What colour is the Australian football away strip?

5. Why do so many people in the world speak English?

6. Why do we live in a country made up of other countries?

7. Can we go to Pluto one day?

8. Why is American Football not called American Rugby?

Hopefully this will be useful:
1) Only when they have a big enough gun.
2) cartilage is a much too biological word for a young man of your age.
3) Kane or Abel - never sure about that one. Assuming that Adam was 'made' rather than born. If you're not into those kind of stories, then Geoff the ape was first.
4) It doesn't really matter - football's the game they're no good at.
5) Because otherwise English people wouldn't understand them.
6) To make sure English people aren't _quite_ as geographically unaware as our American chums.
7) Yes, Disneyland Paris isn't that far.
8) Go to your room.

Hmmm, I think 4, 5 and 6 prove some kind of racism that I'm a little worried about...

1. Only if they slipped on one near a cliff or pointy stick
2. Lots of tiny carts tied togther
3. Kenan or Kel, never sure which one.
4. Rules or Association?
5. Due to the British imperialist pig-dogs
6. So, in theory, we could have more that one team in the World Cup finals
7. If we could travel at the speed of light then we can go to Pluto for a day and be back for tea. Mmm cake!
8. Copyright issues

In the bathroom one day (when he was about 5) Sam asked me which was his index finger, and why was it so named. Thinking on the spot I suggested that it was used for reading the index of a book, to which he then retorted (after looking at his hands...)

Daddy - which one's my glossary finger?
