Collective noun needed
What, I ask myself, (because I am flicking through Picassa rather than cooking the kids tea) would be a suitable collective noun for Braithwaites? Remembering, of course, that I am one too, I think it would need to be something pleasant and chilled out - but maybe also slightly tongue in cheek.
At the moment, I am attracted to "a chill of Braithwaites" because we were colder than it looks, or "a flotsam of Braithwaites" because of the slightly haphazard way that everyone is sitting about. But neither really do it justice.
I think I'll settle on "a flock" instead. Is it me or is there a little of the Bo Peeps about Valerie in this one - albeit one whose only lost sheep was Chris, off kite flying out of picture?

How about a Brace of Braithwaites, not only appropriate (as in bracing cold), but an aliteration as well?
oh rats......I was going to say brace!
Back to the drawing board
Why is Camilla Windsor on holiday with you? Or did you happen upon her that day and she sat for a picture?
A 'blether' of Braithwaites?
A flock of Braithwaites reminds me of the famous story of Auntie Stella buying Tanya an album for Christmas, sometime during the early 80's. Collaring a poor, unsuspecting sales assistant in Boots, Princes street, Stella confidently asks for the new LP by 'A Flock of Pigeons'... Amazingly, the sales assistant must have been fluent in middle-aged/slighly-senile speak and Stella arrived home with the correct species of bird, wrapped it up with an album by UB40 (god knows what she asked for there!)and popped the presents under the tree, neatly propped up against the radiator!
How about a "A Bucket of Braithwaites"?
You have an alliteration, it's sand-related and you all look a little pale!
