While we were there they were able to take in some of the huge array of children's entertainment on offer. They loved The Sword in the Stone, particularly because all the kids got a turn on the stage. Then they went to a puppet show of The Rainbow Fish and joined in a puppet workshop afterwards. Just the boys and my mum went to these but we all went to see the Greatest Bubble Show on Earth on Friday. Mmmm. Although there were no complaints from the little ones, I would have to say that he was the grumpiest bubble man on earth! Why he got them all completely over excited just to get cross when they popped his bubbles I don't really know. Still, it wouldn't be the Fringe if you didn't see at least one thing that didn't live up to its advance billing.
Other excitements included two shows on the High Street - of the fire-throwing, unicycle riding variety - and trips to the Museum of Scotland, the Museum of Childhood and the brass rubbing centre. All of these were made much easier with the benefits of having two very helpful grandmothers in tow. Finally, a creditable mention to Dominic, Max and Maddie for a very pleasant visit to Great Granny's house in Falkirk. All in all, another busy week.
