Beauty and the beasts

Once upon a time there was a beautiful princess called Maddie who yearned to play with everyone else's toys, take out all the pens and leave them lying about with their lids off and to watch all her favourite shows on Cbeebies. Sadly for her, however, the princess was cursed with two older brothers who didn't always want to share their toys or have their drawings scribbled on by their destructive younger sibling. Worst of all, for Maddie, they had left the banality and high contrast colour of Cbeebies behind and only wanted to watch CBBC (except when Newsround was on because that was boring).
Every day those rotten boys just kept coming in and changing the channel right in the middle of Maddie's favourite all-singing, all-dancing, preferably pink-coloured girly shows. Finally she had had enough. Summoning up all her secret powers Maddie huffed and puffed, sprinkled a little pixie dust and turned her brothers into two black bream.
That night her mummy and daddy roasted the black bream with olive oil, garlic, lemon juice and rosemary as per the instructions of the wonderful Nigel Slater. And Maddie watched Cbeebies happily ever after.
