Where the wild things are #1
There are more wild things about here than in leafy South Manchester. I fished this bug out of the swimming pool and it was the first of several. I don't know what they are. Kamakaze bugs maybe?
There are also lots and lots of black squirrels. Apparently due to melanism, the opposite of albinism. Now who says you don't learn something new every day.
We have a lovely little wasp nest in the ivy next to one window. Shortly to be destroyed but I thought I'd photograph it first. Max found it when one of them stung him.
What else? I have mentioned the chipmunks and the rabbits in the garden. We have seen a fantastic little red bird in the nearby woods, a Cardinal bird. We have scooped worms out of the pool (we think they got lost in the rain) and I have shooed a squirrel and several butterflies out of the house. No mooses or bears yet though.
