Where the wild things are #4

Winter began the other day. Mrs Elliot told Max that winter starts on Dec 21st and as "she is 52 and you are only 38 Mummy" and because she is his teacher, he believed her rather than me. He's no fool then.

Still we have wildlife kicking about here aplenty - particularly squirrels. I have managed to photograph quite a few Blue Jays now by wooing them to the bird table. Fortunately or unfortunately, the squirrels were not far behind. Then the other day a huge collection of red breasted birds (obviously not Robins) descended on this cherry-type tree in the garden and denuded it of berries within minutes.

As if that wasn't enough excitement, I have also been able to snap this lesser spotted snowman lurking in the garden. Interestingly, Dominic was able to build this when we only had a bit of snow. Now we have tons (really!) but it seems to be too soft to mould into anything as yet. Also its so bloody cold we haven't really played in it enough to build anything. But more snow pictures from White Christmas guaranteed land will follow.

In the meantime - how about this new Picassa collage mosiac option. This is sure to be the first of many....
