Yesterday we took the children to a conservation area on the Niagara escarpment called Mountsberg to meet Mr and Mrs Santa. We travelled through the woods in an open cart pulled by two horses (smelly horses according to Max)to Santa's country retreat. Highlights included the elves packaging store with coal to be delivered to naughty children and clocks telling the time in major cities across the world. In Mrs Santa's kitchen we decorated cookies and made jingle bell bracelets. Then they all got to go and tell a very charming Santa what they would like for Christmas. He seemed quite unfazed at the immense list which includes Dancing Dora's,vast sums of money, Chemistry sets, American football outfits, Barbies and baseball bats.
We all agree that he was a cut above your average department store Santa and that maybe, just maybe, he was actually the real one. Maybe.
