Finally 40

So Kate hit 40 today. It is traditional to write some commentary at this point of the festivities, but first a photo.





Kate is handing out birthday apple pie to the children in this photo. As you can tell they are not necessarily thrilling their mother with their demands for more of this and that but it does make for a great photo.

We have spent the day just chilling and went on a really nice walk to the park. Tomorrow we are headed to the US to get the kids assessed for school. I have assessed them - urban terrorists.

So as Kate enters the next decade what can I say about the last. Well Kate copes remarkably well with everything that we throw at her. In the last 10 years we have bounced around the UK and the now world. Wherever we have landed Kate has found wonderful places to live, while at the sametime making great and lifelong friends. I am not sure how she finds the time for working and writing. We are just about to embark on yet another life experience which Kate is taking in her usual calm stride.

Following the traditional format -

Likes; champagne, pinot grigio, steak, Spooks, period drama, Lulu Lemon, my car, our new house in PA, her bed and her secret passion American Idol.

Dislikes; our cross trainer, the "European" appliances in the Canada house (I mean you move to North America for the house size refridgeration), mornings, Canadian schooling, the calorific value of cheese, our kettle and ice hockey.
