I started reading the Wizard of Oz last night to Maddie and today, it was windy. Spooky eh. Spookier still, a bit of the house fell off. Not a roof tile or a slate. No, a whopping great bit of trim thing. And the spookiest thing of all was that it took me hours to find out where it had come from. However, I finally found the bald spot and here, particularly for you, my absent husband, is the patch in question.
That's the top of the spare room, dearest, not the garage. Looks like we'll need to get someone in. Joy.
Anyway, stepping beyond the wizards and falling masonry (okay metal), I wanted to record our children's perceptions of their father's employment which they all shared with me over dinner.
Max thinks Chris 'decides where AZ sell medicine'.
Dominic thinks he 'is in charge of special big things' (and this is the child in the academically talented programme?!?!?)
and
Maddie thinks he is 'a computer person who helps people use computers'.
On reflection, I think these statements tell us many things (although not what Chris actually does). I think it might tell us a lot about what he's told them, but their answers seem to fit them rather well too. Maddie is always planning to be a teacher - that fits. Max is very, very interested in advertising - that fits. And Dominic? I think being in charge of special, big things might be right up Dominic's alley!
Goodnight x
