I've got a song about Bethlehem.....

That's what Max announced on the way home from pre-school tonight. For a moment I thought I was living in a really bad musical but it was okay, it is just that Dominic and he are both full of preparations for their respective Christmas productions. Dominic will be appearing as a "traveller" in a story that seems to be about a grumpy sheep and Max's part is yet to be revealed. He may be a shepherd, he may be a star - we don't know. Dominic thinks Max would be a good Christmas pudding. Max is rising above his brother's cheap sallies. All evening, Maddie and I have been enjoying listening to the boys simultaneously singing different Christmas songs as loudly as possible.

The other good thing about Bethlehem, as discussed in the car, is that it is a real place. And in the world according to Dominic, because Bethlehem is a real place, that means Jesus was a real person. His fears have been put to rest. It is diffiult to tell though if he is more concerned about whether Santa or Jesus (currently pronounced Jee-zeus by Max) is real.

This is, according to our five (yes five) advent calendars, only the 6th of December. But already the Christmas placemats (from Hamish and Fiona) are enjoying their annual outing; we have been making salt dough tree decorations (blog to follow); Dominic has written his Christmas list and Max has already forgotten what he wanted to ask for. What state will they be in by the 25th I wonder? Posted by Picasa

Laura has really impressed me. She has been asking for exactly the same things for weeks now...I was terrified that the "list" would change. For the record it's "Peppa Pig and a baby please"
