Literally drinking in the atmosphere

On Sunday, Chris and I went on a corporate bash to Twickenham to see England v France.

I was amazed that there is alcohol for sale during the match and so instantly forgot about all the free fizz and wine we had put away over lunch and tucked into some lagers. We saved the regrets for yesterday.

As the photo shows we had great seats and the stadium was very atmospheric. It didn't have quite the passion I remember from football matches or the home nations matches we went to at Murrayfield in younger, pre-all seating days, but as the tries went in there was plenty to cheer about.

And, as a good immigrant, I forgot all about my Scottish roots - although I'm not sure I'd have been quite as happy to do so if it had been a Calcutta Cup match.
