This week the senior Braithwaites escaped to Paris for 2 days. (Was it only two days? ed.) Granny and Grandpa were drafted in to supervise the Bramhall Three. After 20 hours, most of which had been spent sleeping, we had taken on board a piano, locked ourselves out of the front sitting room, and spread white polystyrene balls over two bedrooms. Still both boys had been handed over to Moss Hey School and the odds were improved dramatically. Edinburgh two versus Bramhall One.

Granny and Grandpa stayed from Monday to Sunday. Highlights have included:- Elly being carried about in a green handbag;
Dominic advising us that he was not natural - he was "womanmade" (that explains a lot I feel); Max "writing" a song to play on the piano and playing it with gusto; Dominic announcing that it wasn't fair that Mummy and Daddy were in Paris while he was stuck in the house with us like a lemon. If only he had been a lemon, we could have had a couple of nice long gin and tonics.

Further highlights have been - Grandpa teaching Dominic the first few notes on the piano; Max's truly amazing computer skills. Madddy's attempts to do absolutely everything the boys do. Including playing cricket, playing football, hiding in bushes and ordering her granny about. Mummy and Daddy coming home.

Have decided we WILL go to Florida with them, so it can't have been too bad. We have survived - mission accomplished.

Apart from being described as a senior Braithwaite, I'm delighted by Mum's post - but not as much as I was by being not at home with the Braithwaites for a couple of lovely days in Paris!
