.....the words of our first-born and fully paid up member of the awkward squad after a one too many days at the beach (in his opinion at least). We ignored him.
The beaches in Florida were excellent, clean sand, clear water, no one trying to sell you a sunbed or can of Coke. They were not very busy and full of beautiful shells. Dad found the only really big one and it hadn't made it onto the beach undamaged but we did find some lovely little ones to bring home. We also found a crab one day - hopefully you can make it out on Dominic's shoulder. Pelicans were about too, flapping along and demolishing fish. Despite Dominic's reservations, the children all really enjoyed their beach days, particularly Mad Maddie who was happy as a sand-girl, expect perhaps when buried up to her neck in it.
