A clockwork orange

Once upon a time in rainy Bramhall I pencilled in on our calendar on August 25th "stuff arrive in Canada??" Yesterday, only one day later than planned, an orange 40 cubic metre container reversed slowly up our new drive and like clockwork our move was complete.

Once upon a different time, Max's favourite bear Toby was in our car when it was stolen off the drive, taken to Rusholme and stripped for parts. Strangely (or not) the thieves didn't want the bear and left him propped up on the remains of the dashboard for the police to return to us. Despite intensive questioning (certainly in contravention of the Teddy Bear Rights Act of 1685) he has never told us anything about those missing few days. And it's the same again now. All these toys, books, pictures and clothes have travelled by road, sea and rail to get here - but they haven't a thing to say about it.

We are happy to see them though.
