80 skin tests later...

So Max and I went to see the allergist today who confirmed that Max has allergies! I guess some people go and don't have allergies, but I think we were pretty sure that Max would come up positive for something. And he did. He had fifteen tests on each arm and then a further 50 on his back, poor baby.

And the results..... ragweed, tree pollen - ash, oak, sycamore, dust, dust mites, cat hair, dogs, peanuts.... that's all I can recall off the top of my head and to be honest, its enough! The worst are probably ragweed - impacting in Autumn - and tree pollen - hitting him in Spring and the dust mites. That's the one on the bottom right in the photo.

There was no talk of getting rid of the dogs, but limited contact was mentioned which didn't please the boy much. For the moment we are looking at daily anti-histamine tablets and nasal sprays but we have to go back in May and there may be blood tests and allergy shots in his future. I'm off to hoover his mattress.
