Reading Olympics

Tonight Dominic was part of two teams from his school attending Reading Olympics. It was held in a local high school. The school has tons of parking, great playing fields and a huge auditorium - but both of the classrooms we were in had no windows. Nice.

Dominic's team did great though. They earned a blue ribbon - the highest award - for scoring more than 50 points in their three games. The highlight for me was Dominic correctly answering a question on a book I know for a fact he has not read. He knew the answer because when I reproached him for not having read it in the car on the way to the event, he asked me what happened in it and I told him a few details. Bearing in mind it's about 30 years since I read it, I think can be allowed to be pretty pleased that Dominic and I scored that point tonight.

When we came home we asked Max the question and he knew the answer because his Granny read this book to him. Name the book Mum....

Well done all of you for remembering Danny Champion of the World. I think Dominic should read the actual book though.
