Okay so Maddie is 7 today and it is time for me to record her Maddi-ness for posterity using our now traditional format.
Looks
Maddie is tall and slim, hopefully taking the Braithwaite genes in that department. She does have a bit of a look of me about the face and hair though and her hair has funny curls at the back which are rather cute (if inclined to tangle). Her other big front tooth is finally, finally coming through thank heavens. She is a pretty girl - but she knows that!!
Personality
Maddie is 'a bit of a one'. She is absolutely perfect at school yet quite inclined to stamp her foot like Rumpelstiltskin if she doesn't get her own way at home. She is a sunny sort in the main though, very affectionate and cuddly and keen on her family (well - most of the time). She is a caring person too and although she loves to be har-um scar-um she also has a serious side. Yesterday she told me she needs to spend less time on electricals because all her spellings and math might just fall out of her head.
Skills and Experience
Maddie is preparing to be a teacher. She is also a great singer and has done very well on the piano lately. She loves to draw and doodle. She has more pens and crayons than one person needs in a lifetime. She's about to make her stage debut as a 50's gal and a bunny. This summer, Maddie will take swim team by storm. She looks set to be another brilliant Braithwaite backstroker - maybe. At school she has excelled in first grade and mastered everything asked of her, particularly reading.
Likes
Singing, TV, chatting, clothes shopping, stationery, music and parties. She LOVES candy and hates brushing her teeth (not a good combo). She loves her puppies and anything with animals in so long as they don't die. Dying is bad. She loves her teacher Ms Marchetto and has promised to cry every day of the summer holidays. At the moment she is very keen on Magic Treehouse and Nancy Drew books. Her favourite food is snack (ie not eating proper meals).
Dislikes
Not getting her own way, going to bed before her brothers, watching soccer matches, being refused snacks, brushing hair and teeth.
What we love about Maddie
Cuddles, sense of humour, singing (mostly), her smile, her serious moments, her not so serious moments, organisational skills
What sometimes tests us a little
Lying about having brushed her teeth, foot-stamping and hissy-fits, changing her clothes six times a day, messy bedroom.
Here she is at Longwood gardens today with some of her chums.
