Speech

Hi. I’m Dominic Braithwaite and I’m running for C team representative. I was in my school council in England so I have experience with this thing. I feel I’m good at getting my point across which would help us get our ideas forward. Yes all of ours, because if I was elected I’d try to get your ideas forward too. I know I’m not there yet and that’s why I need your votes. Today I’m not here to make silly promises I can’t keep like to shorten the school days to 5 minutes, or have homework banned. Those are things I’d love to do but I sadly can’t. What I’d try to if I was elected are things like having ipods and phones allowed in basic which I’m sure a lot of people would love including me. (but I unfortunately left my ipod in my shorts pockets when they went in the wash so it’s not working right now I blame fate but it was probably my fault) I’d try have the 6th graders recognized more by upping dances a bit, and making more field trips for us. I’d also try to get a soda machine for us to have at lunch. Another idea I had was to get a locker break after tenth period. I know as a fact that this would help me and I’m sure it would help a lot of you guys and girls as well. My final idea is to have more fund raisers for the school like a bake sale or a car wash with prizes for the prime time that makes the most money for the school. This would be a great way for us to be able to afford things like a soda machine, more field trips, or bigger facilities. I hope I’ve done enough to convince you to vote for me Dominic Braithwaite, the man with a plan.

I have two photographs of the young candidate - one last night doing his homework (poor light 6pm) and one of him eating his breakfast this morning (electric light 6am). We await the results of Dominic's first election campaign but I can confirm that the young politician returned from the polling station in upbeat mood. The clap-o-meter (the one in Dominic's head) gave him the biggest round of applause. More news from campaign HQ on Monday. I promise!!
