1st year report

Madeleine was one last week so here are a few notes to help us remember her at this tender age.

Looks: Madeleine is yet another glamorous Braithwaite blonde bombshell – oh sorry, make that blonde baldy. Whatever her little brain is doing, it ain’t growing hair. In general, she is a bit on the small side and as she crawls upstairs in her sleepsuit, her legs seem to disappear in a glut of material making her look quite reminiscent of Casper the Ghost.

Personality: Maddie (Mads, the Madster) is very friendly and outgoing. Any latent shyness has been wiped away by the experience of living with her two gobby brothers. She is general very charming and jolly although beneath this pleasant exterior lurks a level of balshiness which is mainly expressed through a very high pitched and deeply unpleasant scream that issues forth whenever she is not quite getting what she wants.

Skills and experience: Madeleine is good at banging things, filling and emptying, pulling hair, crawling about over all types of terrain and giving goey kisses. She has begun walking with the aid of furniture but will not be troubling the shoe shops for a wee while yet. She can say “cat” and “ma” (which might mean mum, but more likely means mine and/or more). Any other communication need is generally covered by the scream thing.

Likes: Strawberries, grapes, Teletubbies, noisy brothers, noisy toys and music, her books, her thumb, her elephant.

Dislikes: Not being allowed to eat dirt, eat the telephone, stick her hands down the toilet, drink coffee or even stick her hands in the hot liquid.

What we love about her: General cuteness and liking for cuddles. Her enthusiasm for going to bed at 7pm with a merry wave.

What occasionally tests our love for her: Her tendency wake us up in the middle of the night to help locate her elephant when she has mislaid it about her cot and, oh yes, that scream. Posted by Picasa

My goodness 1 already, it seems like just yesterday. I'm sorry I missed what must have been a fabulous party. She is the most adorable baby and we love her hair or no hair. She can have the 3 inches I had cut off on Thursday.

I think one of her other likes may be red juice as introduced by Mel

I'm sure when shoes do become important, Mel will be there as well!
