Okay so not so much an Odyssey as a week in Scotland before a direct flight to Canada but in our lives it ranks as a pretty big upheaval. This is my first post from the other side of the pond and back home it is 2am. I hope everyone I know and love is snuggled up and fast asleep. Normally I like to think about where J&S and family are in their particular time zone but I don't have a clue about that now and will have to go and look it up asap.
Still, we are really here. The bookcases shown in the picture will apparently arrive in the country next Monday so it won't be too long until we've cluttered up this lovely house just like the last one. I've got no desire to blather on about the whole re-location experience but as an aide memoire thought I'd make a quick list:
1. The boys' presentation at school (sniff sniff)
2. Leaving Joseph, William, Sadie and Max
3. Curry in Ashton
4. Sapporo and the Cloud bar for Nikki's birthday
5. Thomas and Dominic on the phone
6. Our street being dug up coz the houses weren't earthed (after we left - ha ha)
7. Dad and a very large bottle of wine
8. Successful homes for the cats
9. Adswood tip
10. Stuart and the Mounty
Love to all the family, especially those who turned out to see us before we went and to friends who have sent cards and best wishes. But that's enough schmaltz - boasting about the swimming pool to follow shortly!

Hurrah! And I hear you've got a television too, but it only shows Canada.
Welcome...Good Luck....send me your address
Hope the move went really, well, but with your organisation skills I would guess that it went exceptionally well
