Now we are six

Ahh. Here is the lovely Max aged 0 to 6 on, give a take a day, on his birthday. Still a bit blond, still a bit of a cutey. Time for his blog-report card.

Looks
Max is tall and strong. Although he's the youngest in his class, he is more than big enough to hold his own. His stomach muscles are rock hard and he is a good runner too. He is still the palest in the family although his incredibly messy eating habits do mean that his milky palor is frequently enlivened by a smear of Nutella, baked beans or, naturally, tomato ketchup. He has size one feet, bites his nails and has a tendency to nose bleeds. He is the blondest of the children by far and I still think he is the one most likely to get freckles.

Personality
Changeable. With his mates he is one of the lads, always running about and larking around. With Dominic he is sneaky and likes to wind him up until the big one loses it. With Maddie he is matey and generally kind (but not always). At school he is good and tries hard but mainly in order to be first - one of his key goals in life. In general he is happy, helpful and pleasant, if a bit lazy, but he can be shy and a bit grumpy with adults he doesn't see too much.

Skills and experience
Max is on top of all his school work and has got to grips with all the basics of reading, spelling and maths very easily. He can swim for an age, run for a week and plays all sporty things pretty well. He has serious ice hockey ambitions which will begin to take shape shortly when he takes up learning to skate. He is a logical little soul too and is great at mazes and problem solving stuff.

Likes
Sandwiches, annoying his brother, lying in bed, Tyler (new best friend, ardently admired), Canada, cake, Dr Seuss, cars, mini-sticks, computer games, being British rather than English (or Canadian)

Dislikes
Losing, losing, losing, losing and losing. Meals that are not sandwiches. Getting dressed. Having to sleep with the bedroom door open.

What we love about Max
Easy-going nature, excellent sleeping skills and resistance to early rising, cuddliness, his smile.

What drives us potty still
Dawdling approach to going anywhere, selective deafness to parental instruction, nail-biting, sandwich obsession.
