Joseph and the shepherd

I believe that the nativity play I went to today was called The Innkeeper's Breakfast but for me there were only really two stars.

Dominic, as Joseph, is seen here discussing hay for the stable with the innkeeper who was played by his good mate Max. And below we see our own dear Max who, I must say, really sang his heart out. What a trooper.

At the risk of being uncharacteristically sentimental - it was really lovely! All Dominic's class did really well (they had all the speaking parts) and our boy Dom - who had only put in to be Joseph, a shepherd or a king - had a really responsible part, second only, I would say (and probably with rather unbecoming maternal pride) to the innkeeper himself. He coped masterfully with having to say the apparently excruciatingly embarrassing words - "My wife is having a baby. We need to rest." and his other two lines (!!) were delivered equally slickly. He and Mary also did a little song and dance which hopefully Chris will be able to video when he goes to the second performance tomorrow.

And now that I'm over the emotion of it all - what about a caption for this photograph??

Joseph: Watcha mate, any room at the boozer for m' bird and kiddie?

Shepherd: Mum, Dom's been listening to Kate Nash again, innit!
